Thomas Allen is the founder, President and CEO of Practice Transitions Group (PTG), an M&A advisory firm specializing in healthcare practice transitions. A native of Houston, Texas, Thomas established PTG in 2015 after recognizing a critical gap in the market for specialized sell-side representation for healthcare practice owners.

Prior to founding PTG, Thomas established Practice Real Estate Group, a commercial tenant representation firm focused exclusively on helping healthcare businesses secure optimal locations for practice openings and expansions. This venture gave him unique insights into the operational and financial aspects of healthcare practices across multiple specialties.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Thomas has built PTG from the ground up, expanding from its Austin headquarters to serve clients nationwide. Under his leadership, the firm has successfully facilitated over 100 practice transitions, with a particular focus on dental, medical, and aesthetics businesses with revenues between $2MM and $20MM.

Thomas is widely recognized for his ability to navigate complex transactions and create favorable outcomes for practice owners. His unique approach combines deep market knowledge, creative deal structuring, and a genuine commitment to preserving the legacy of each practice he represents. He personally leads many of the firm’s most challenging and high-value transactions, bringing a wealth of experience in private equity dynamics, DSO partnerships, and traditional practice sales.
