Noah Jones Joins Practice Transitions Group

Noah Jones joins Practice Transitions Group as a financial analyst.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I attended the University of Texas at Austin for my undergraduate studies. Prior to that, I attended Plano Senior High School, a secondary school for students in grades 11–12. Because of the school’s size, Plano Senior High School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities. There was an automobile program, a dance program, and a clinical program, for example. I learned the fundamentals of anatomy and became a certified nursing assistant while I was still in high school. I witnessed surgeries and watched as doctors placed stents for patients who needed them. As a result, I initially decided to pursue a pre-medical degree at UT Austin.

What else inspired you to pursue a career in pre-med?

My father, an oncologist, and mother, a nurse, were both role models for me. They both pushed me to maintain a strong academic focus throughout my life. My dad also instilled in his children a love of reading and studying. Growing up he used to read science fiction bedtime stories like Lord of the Rings or Dune. I have two other siblings, and we’ve all always been curious about math.

Why didn’t you pursue a career in medicine?

As I began taking college classes, I realized I no longer wanted to pursue a profession in medicine. That’s also when I rekindled my interest in economics. Stocks and investment have always piqued my interest. Economics can be applied to almost anything, and I enjoy researching trends and seeing how everything fits together. The COVID-19 pandemic struck during my junior year of college. All of the internships that I had hoped for were canceled. I was disappointed but eventually got my foot in the door working as an account coordinator before I found Practice Transitions Group.

What do you do for fun when you’re not working?

I like to play video games and I also work part-time as a commercial model. I’ve appeared in music videos and commercials. I still keep in touch with a lot of my college friends since I still live in Austin. I also enjoy spending time with Maise, my German Shepherd poodle.

What do you enjoy most about working at Practice Transitions Group

I genuinely enjoy working as a financial analyst. In college, I completed a few courses that are similar to what I’m doing now, and I am looking forward to getting more involved in the business. The work at Practice Transitions Group is rewarding. I enjoy solving possible problems and having challenging tasks on my plate.
